Hey guys sorry I stalled yesterday for the Con report but... meh I really couldn't be fucked yesterday... didn't have a great day... anyway... MIDFUR!!!

Friday

Well I pull in from the bloody long, over night bus trip at 08:20, and well I never though stretching could be so good... those who know me know I'm a tall bastard so approx 12 hours mashed into the bus was apit of a pisser... anyway I start to wander to around and find my hotel and cloak my bag then head off to the Vic for Midfur. I get there before 9 and find I have an hour and a half to kill because Vollunteers start at 10:30 (Yes I was on the Vollunteer staff for my very first convention... It was fucking awesome...) Anyway I run into Arctic Pete and Firey (Pete was the First Furry I saw face to face so that was cool... hes a Big, cool looking goth bloke... but yeah we end up down ina cafe... I then catch up with my room mate Marshall and chat with him for abit... I wasnt much of the conversationalist as I hadent slept for the two night Prior (sickness then the buss trip) so I was probalby as my fun as a hole in the head that day.. I think I noded off at one point for afew minute somewhere... anyway The vollunteers start work and I met a heap of cool people... not knowing anyone I jsut wandered and eventualy met up with two Furs named Hallward and witching hour wolf (aka Amber) and stuck with them for most of it...
The rest of Friday is abit of a blur... It involved Listening to Kage at one point meeting another cool guy named Diego and spending most of my money...
On this spending point... God damn you can spend ludicrus amounts of money at a convention of furry stuff... I hit the $200 on the first day... and would have kept spending at that rate everyday if I had the cash in hand...
But yes I brought a cat paw collar/braclet and 2 prints from Ashlind (one a big A3 poster one) Then two from Zarthus (I think) and got two comission... one for my first Con badge off Ashlind and then one from Hallward as well as a very nice acid etched wolf brotch thing and dragon pendant from Amber and of course I bought a heap of badges from various people... I actualy was eyeing off a full fursuit that looked brilliant but then because of the quality and the fact it was a full fursuit I walked away from it think it would have been way out of my price range... silly me walked away without asking the price as I later found it it cost only $200... it could have been mine! Hmm I must say though now looking in hindsight its probbably for the best I didnt buy it as there would have been no way I could have fitted it in on the plane fight back to sydney... (I wonder what the airpost staff would have said when they saw a werewolf going through their scanners...)
I then had to leave to convention early before the met and greet for reason that I wont bore you with but I didnt end up staying the Night at the Vic hotel either...

Saturday

Well Saturday was pissing down rain but we went walk about around the city looking at places... my almost empty wallet was screaming to by stuff but well... I shut it up and and didnt but that Johny Rotten Action Figure...( that would have been bloody awesome to have) so yes I walked and I talk and Learnt the unfortunate new that Terry Pratchett has altzimers or something and so will stop writing soon... but also talked about good stuff and met more furs which was cool.

Now because of this rain we would have needed to swim at the barbque that was on for lunch so it was called off and we ordered pizza... and thus started the pizza debarcle.
I ooped out of the Zoo trip for the Cafe crawl because I had ordered a pizza and wouldn't have got it if I went to the Zoo (Plus I would have poorpered myself more so if I went) so we had some time before all that started... so we wait.........................and wait..........and wait.....and wait... I think the cafe crawl was lost in some part of that waiting time though it might have happened... I dont know but we jstu waited for pizza... I forget how long it took for the pizzas but if was a good few hours... anyway I ended up only getting one piece because I was stupid and wandered off while the second half of them where delived but no biggy... I had lost my apatite and it cost me bugger all so I wasn't complaining... and then I talked to more people and listened to 2 and Kage... 2 and myself beat kage with our mostache power... (I have to ask him for the picture of that if he still has it) and then I had to again leave early before the gala ball (I was spitting that I missed it) and yeah made my way to my other hotel room (again not staying in the Victoria hotel with my Room mate...).

Sunday

Sunday I was getting into the full swing of things... again I bought more stuff.. another braclet and then I forgot what else... more badges probably...
But today I got to pic up my beautiful, sparkling new Con badge in all its awesomeness... its such a great thing... so I wore it with pride then... I ended up minding Ambers table (while there I managed to do my own little peice of art... I started out drawing a clothes peg but some how he/she managed to end up int o an alien of sorts with big cribbly teeth.... So I Named him Peg and gave him to Amber) while she ran around doing stuff so I think I missed the second and third panels for that day... though I also think I missed the first one because I was buying stuff... meh anyway I dont remeber it... The second one was the one with the guests of honour and that one was good... they talked about the fandom and ther role in it pretty much and share alot of interesting stories.. also afterwards I got talking to Paul Kidd and learnt a series of game to play though the only one that I can remeber properly is called Ameoba... its cool... You have a small table top though the size can increase with the amount of people playing and each player starts off with 10 coins (Aust 10 cents where used) and basicly players take turns in moving one of their coins around... the rules are that all your coins must be at some point touching another one of your coins at all times so your group of coins works like a blob... Anyway the goal of the game is to end up with all the coins and you do this by taking coins from the other players. To take a coin you need to move one or more of your coins in contact with the enemy coin and then depending how many are in contact it controls the nuber of dice the player can roll... we you see how many dies you have, you roll and then to highest total score gets all the opponents touching coins... aparently it gets really tactic with different formations being used and other interesting tactics occur but yea it sounded pretty cool so I though I would share that with you... hmm today was the day for my early leave as I had work to do monday in sydne so at 4 I said my last fare wells and good byes and then I walked out the door...

So yes.... that was Midfur for me... I had an absolute blast and its was the best fun I've had in a long while... I have deduces that furries are a weird mob but very much awesome at the same time... so yeah I had great fun... it was a great first convention experience and I say a big thank you to Arctic pete and the rest of Midfur Commity for making Midfur a reality as it was run very very well and it was alot of fun for all involved.

So that Midfur in a nutshell...ish I would have posted all my pictures but I managed to break my camera's SD card somehow and managed to lost all my photos... but ahhh well... I'll jsut have to look at the ones everyone else took...
But yes... midfur was awesome and I'll definatly be going next year ^^
